If you're new to buying/collecting watches, you really don't have the experience or knowledge to know if you're getting scammed or buying a fake or actually getting a good deal. So many nice watches you can get new online or in person for under k.Usually, dress watches have a 3atm/30mts water resistance, but in reality that tells you that it withstands rain or washing your hands and getting it a bit wet. However, you wouldn’t take it in the shower or swimming. It might be worth getting a watch with 10atm/100mts so you can rest easy about getting in the pool knowing the watch can take it.In terms of watches to look at, maybe consider some popular affordables, eg Hamilton Khaki, Orient dive watches, Seiko 5s, etc. Figure out what type of watches you like (diver, pilot/field, dress, everyday, etc) and what size.
